Who is in charge, the employer or the employee? It’s a difficult question to answer – in part, it may depend on your industry and how much demand there is for your job. If you are an employee, you might find your life tough, but then again, so might an employer.
One of the main game changers has been the use of recruitment agencies. They have made it much easier for employers and employees alike, meaning that there are more jobs to browse in one place, and more people to target easily. Of course, the recruiter will be paid by the employer, so the market would probably favour them if push came to shove.
However, recruitment is generally a positive thing and does help to create a more level playing field. It is in the recruiter’s interests to find suitable candidates, so both the employer and the employee will be in a favourable position.
