Networking can help you to find a new position within your group of associates, without you having to spend hours applying to different jobs and writing out covering letter. Speak to contacts, build your relationships and see what they may be able to offer you.
Working with recruiters is also like a type of networking exercise. You need to persuade them to have confidence in you and to build up the relationship, making yourself memorable to them. You will need to repeatedly get in touch to find out how your applications are progressing and to see if they have any new jobs available that may be suitable for you. Once you have made contact with a recruitment consultant, don’t let the relationship go stale. Be persistent yet persuasive, making sure you get the job you deserve.
